Project: Choice Radio
Platform: Windows 2000
Database: Microsoft SQL Server
WebServer: IIS 4.0
Technologies: Able Commerce, Macromedia ColdFusion, Microsoft Windows Media Player

At ChoiceRadio.com, music lovers can choose from over 20 streaming radio stations, view concert footage and interviews, purchase music, chat with other music lovers, and much more. The radio-like look represents and preserves the analog experience and provides a comfortable, familiar setting for both novice users and savvy web surfers. Unlike other radio sites, the user can give feedback on each song, and thus build their own customized playlist based on their own preferences.

As of January 2000, ChoiceRadio.com had amassed a listenership of over 370,000 unique users per month, with an average of over 700 concurrent users at any given moment.

Choiceradio.com was developed using Allaire Cold Fusion with a SQL Server back end and uses Microsoft's Windows Media Player. It was one of the first internet broadcasters to beta test Media Player and as a result is prominently featured on the MSN Radio Guide and is included in all 17 localized versions of MSN worldwide.
